Fall 2025 Instructors:

Analysis of environmental systems with special emphasis on non-urban and agribusiness needs. Technological and sociological solutions to environmental problems. Computer-based tools are used to analyze global environmental issues, chemical use and management, waste disposal and management, water and air quality, soil and water conservation, sustainable agriculture, regulatory and policy issues.

Learning Outcomes

1Develop a general awareness of the interactions between agricultural systems and the environment.

2Increase familiarity with major environmental issues related to agriculture.

3Increase awareness of contemporary and future trends and the potential effects on the environment, agriculture, and society.

4Understand the need to use a systems approach rather than focusing on one component to use technologies in an environmentally responsible manner.

5Broaden/enhance problem solving skills, written skills, and oral communication skills.
