Fall 2026 Laboratory Lecture Lower DivisionAn introduction to microcontroller applications focused on both hardware and software. Common applications of embedded microcontrollers are introduced. Input/output operations, peripheral devices, the interconnection of devices, algorithm development, structured C-language programming, troubleshooting and debugging, and the use of PC-based software development tools are studied.
Learning Outcomes1Construct electronic hardware systems to solve a given microcontroller problem.
2Develop and utilize algorithms and flowcharts to create microcontroller applications to solve a given problem.
3Apply the fundamental control structures and logic operations to control program flow within microcontroller applications.
4Demonstrate the ability to convert numbers between number systems (bases) and compute arithmetic operations within microcontroller applications.
5Utilize the primary tools used to create, test, and debug computing system hardware and software components.
