Fall 2026 Lecture
This course will introduce advanced students to single case design research methodology. Topics covered include evidence based practice, measurement and visual analysis, design theory and application, and strategies for assessing the quality of single case design research (e.g., standards, internal validity, external validity).
Learning Outcomes1Demonstrate knowledge about the different single case research designs and variations of each.
2Demonstrate knowledge of the application of single case research methodology in various settings.
3Construct and interpret graphic displays of behavioral data including all elements of an APA designed graph.
4Evaluate the quality of single case design studies critically.
5Describe evidence based practice and apply the clinical decision making model to synthesize research related to a clinical problem.
