Fall 2026 Lecture Upper DivisionThis course will cover the theory, implementation, and analysis of simulation. The topics covered include queueing, inventory, and discrete event simulation, and all of these will be practiced in Python/Anylogic. Students will complete an extensive semester long simulation project.
Learning Outcomes1Explain the different types of simulation and describe their connection to random number generation.
2Apply a systematic set of simulation models in practice and analyze how individual methodologies connect to the complete simulation process.
3Implement simulation methodologies using appropriate software tools and data sets.
4Communicate simulation results effectively and succinctly in written form, synthesizing analytical findings for a technical audience.
