2Understand the physical mechanisms of radiation interaction with materials and model these interactions quantitatively.

3Understand and model the phenomenon of radiation damage to bulk, surfaces and interfaces.

4Relate the concepts of radiation damage to neutron interaction with solids in both fission and fusion reactors.

5Understand the technological applications of radiation interaction with materials.
