Spring 2026 Lecture Upper Division
This course is aimed for the student with an interest in clinical trial research or diagnostic medicine. The student will gain a broader knowledge of the vital team role the clinical research technician/nurse and diagnostic laboratory technician plays. The student will gain exposure to the various laboratories in a diagnostic laboratory and the clinical research laboratory. Enrollment minimum is 5 students per semester.
Learning Outcomes1Understand the importance of the technician - nurse in clinical research and diagnostic laboratories.
2Increase knowledge of the different equipment and supplies used in diagnostic laboratories for the different laboratories.
3Understand the importance of standard operating procedures and validation of diagnostic tests.
4Understand the clinical research's role in implementing new procedures.
