Spring 2026 Lecture Upper DivisionThe Defense Civilian Training Corps (DCTC) was established to develop a modernized, multidisciplinary civilian talent pipeline for the Department of Defense (DoD). DCTC provides the targeted education, development and experiences required to meet current and future complex demands on the DoD workforce. The goal is to foster a continuous and increasing stream of multi-disciplinary cleared talent directly from the higher education system into the DoD civilian workforce. Permission of instructor required.
Learning Outcomes1Identify the key elements of the defense industrial base and analyze its role as a DoD partner in building an innovation ecosystem.
2Describe the ideal relationship and key tools in forming business arrangements between the government and industry.
3Explain the different states of acquisition efforts and the modern tools that can be used to accelerate capability delivery.
4Identify the primary internal stakeholders in an acquisition program and describe their contribution to achieving success through the completion of the acquisition game and class work.
5Explain security threats and the responsibilities of personnel with security clearances and access to sensitive information.
6Identify key learnings through positive psychology topics to bring resilience skills to the DoD internship experience.
