Fall 2025 Lecture Upper Division
This course focuses on the application of financial management tools used to assist managers in the sport industry. Financial concepts will be examined as they relate to management decision-making. Emphasis will be on interpreting financial data and communicating results to operation managers.
Learning Outcomes1Apply finance and business concepts effectively in a sport or entertainment setting.
2Analyze financial data and make recommendations to management concerning financial position and produce a budget for your department or organization.
3Explain in detail key public sources of finance for sport organizations and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
4Explain in detail how sporting events create an economic impact for various locals.
5Appreciate the current financial status of diverse segments of the sport industry.
