This course focuses on the detection, quantification, and characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, carbohydrates, and small bioactive molecules. Principles and applications of various analytical techniques, including spectroscopy, chromatography and mass spectrometry, will also be discussed.

2Understand the mechanism of standard bioanalytical measurements and evaluate their relative precision, accuracy, and ease of use.
3Choose an appropriate analytical method for detection or quantification of a biological molecule in a given situation and adapt or design components.
