Fall 2025 Laboratory Lecture Lower DivisionThis course will introduce students to concepts related to normal, healthy, small animal patients. This course includes both lecture and laboratory components.
Learning Outcomes1Describe and implement common restraint techniques used for various small animal species.
2Measure the temperature, pulse, and respiratory rates, and provide an explanation of the normal parameters.
3Identify and explain different sites for injections and venipuncture.
4Identify common breeds of canines and felines and describe normal behavior of each species.
5Conduct a comprehensive patient history and perform a thorough, standardized physical examination.
6Engage in discussions with clients about routine preventive care, including recommended vaccinations for different large animal species.
