Fall 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionThis course is a graduate-level skills-based course designed to provide practical applications of health and wellness coaching. Topics include advanced theories in health and wellness coaching, the application of effective coach-to-client communication techniques, legal considerations of the profession, and a health coach's professional scope of practice. Students in this course will complete peer-mentored coaching sessions and practical skills evaluations. This course is part of a series that will prepare students for a health coaching certification and the potential to sit for the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) health coaching certification exam.
Learning Outcomes1Explore and practice behavior change models & theories.

4Display understanding and application of the core components of a coaching session, as well as the techniques and skills employed for successful sessions.
