Fall 2025 Lecture Credit By ExaminationDepartmental CreditLower DivisionThis is a required one-credit-hour career readiness and development course geared toward preparing you to meet your short and long-term career goals. Come prepared to develop your career goals, create and modify your career necessities (resume, LinkedIn profile, elevator pitch, etc.), while growing in the competencies employers are looking for when hiring recent graduates. Following career necessities, you'll get an idea of what you might encounter in the workforce, and what steps you can take to be successful in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes1Identify and communicate professional strengths using Clifton Strengths assessment.
2Communicate professionally using STAR and SOAR methods in professional documents in order to articulate their skills and experiences.
3Develop oral and written communication skills via email, over Zoom, and in person with School of Business alumni, faculty, fellow students, and staff. As a result, students will be able to effectively communicate their skills and experiences in a variety of professional contexts, including networking events, career fairs, and interviews.
4Identify methods for internship and full-time job search.
5Identify key financial resources and best practices in regard to benefits packages and money management.
