The Practicum in Gifted, Creative, and Talented (GCT) Education is designed to be the culminating experience for those who are pursuing the GCT pathway as part of their teacher education undergraduate licensure program, with or without Indiana licensure. The overall goal of the course is derived from Standard 6 of the NAGC-CEC Teacher Preparation Standards in Gifted and Talented Education. Includes experiential learning. Required for those seeking GCT pathway in teacher education.

Learning Outcomes

1Develop as reflective practitioners who set and evaluate their progress toward personal goals for professional growth.

2Create professional networks that can be sustained beyond the practicum experience.

3Practice continuous improvement in teaching gifted, creative, and talented students.

4Demonstrate the key ideas, standards, guiding principles, theories, models, and instructional strategies learned in EDPS 24000, 24800, 54200, &

55. Formalize philosophies of and personal identities as practitioners of GCT education.
