Fall 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionThis course connects anatomy and physiology with medical imaging. The primary focus is on anatomic imaging methods such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) but includes Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Ultrasound (US) images when applicable or are in common use as part of clinical care.
Learning Outcomes1Identify and label the anatomy associated with the topical outline in diagnostic CT/MRI images.
2Critique CT/MRI images for the presence or absence of anatomy and pathology to decide whether the image is appropriately positioned and diagnostic for radiological assessment.
3Locate anatomical systems and possible pathology based on background knowledge of typical anatomical locations and identify normal course of system function for appropriate positioning, patient instructions, and CT/MRI imaging.
