This seminar focuses on contemporary topics in hospitality and service business research and guides students to produce work that meets the standards of top-tier journals. Key topics include corporate strategy, consumer behavior, branding, marketing, human resource management, and the application of big data and technology. Through classroom discussions and research project development, students will critique existing literature, formulate research problems, and develop a theoretically robust and methodologically sound research, with a focus on solving real-world problems in hospitality and service industries.

Learning Outcomes

1Identify research gaps in the hospitality and service business literature and formulate research questions to address these gaps.

2Evaluate various quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to determine their appropriateness for addressing the research questions.

3Compile insights from corporate strategy, consumer behavior, and technology applications to develop comprehensive research frameworks.
