Spring 2026 Lecture Upper DivisionThe value of a hotel is based on both its operation and the real estate holding. A successful manager needs to understand the relationship between operations and the management of the real estate asset. Hotel asset management involves overseeing operating performance and real estate planning with the goal of achieving long-term profitability and enhancing the value of the hotel property. This course will introduce students to the principles and practices of hotel asset management including real estate management, contracts, as well as the planning and execution of hotel investments. Students with an interest in hospitality finance and real estate investment are encouraged to take graduate-level courses in this area and explore the finance and real estate minors following the successful completion of this course.
