Spring 2026 Lecture Laboratory Upper DivisionThis is the 4th course offered in the nuclear pharmacy series, with an emphasis on the skills needed for the preparation and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals, with additional focus on the importance of quality assessment. In addition, we will emphasize clinical problem-solving skills to identify sources of problems that may occur during preparation or imaging when using various radiopharmaceuticals.
Learning Outcomes1Understand the various techniques specific to the preparation of a variety of radiopharmaceutical products.
2Enhance skills in kit selection, specific compounding requirements, radiochemical purity testing and dispensing of final doses for patient use.
3Utilize practical pharmaceutical compounding skills including sterile product preparation guidelines as they apply to radiopharmaceutical preparation.
4Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and problem-solve operational and clinical problems that arise when preparing various radiopharmaceuticals.
