Spring 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionDetailed description of drug discovery and development that integrates multiple scientific disciplines. Topics include Drug Disposition and Toxicology, Identification, Qualification, and Validation of Molecular Targets, Lead Discovery and Optimization, and New Drug Modalities and Advanced Medicinal Products. These topics assume prior student mastery of basic chemical principles of biological action that are taught in MCMP 57000.
Learning Outcomes1Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the process for identifying and developing new candidate agents.
2Evaluate pharmaceutical candidates for therapeutic efficacy, safety, and potential improvement of candidates for clinical development.
