Once seen as a revolutionary and exceptional, nuclear technologies have become central to many aspects of life in the U.S. This course uses the history of nuclear technologies to trace how American society has grappled with technological change.
Learning Outcomes1Write a persuasive essay evaluating nuclear energy as a source of power, using primary and secondary historical sources to support your claims.
2Create a compelling argument about how societies cope with technological change, using the history of nuclear technologies as a central example.
3Summarize the importance of nuclear technologies in US history, drawing on primary and secondary historical sources introduced in the course.
