Spring 2025 Instructors:

Historiographic analysis of theatre, drama, and performance of the 20th and 21st centuries. Emphasis on the relationship between modern and contemporary performance to world history from social, political, and cultural perspectives. Course includes both written and practical components. Prerequisites: THTR 20100, THTR 27100.

1Interpret plays, performances, and performance theory from the 20th and 21st century.

2Analyze theatre and performance histories through a combination of historical research, critical questioning, and practical application.

3Demonstrate how political, economic, and cultural structures impact theatre and performance histories of the 20th and 21st Century.

4Demonstrate skills in research, collaboration, and oral presentation.
