Spring 2025 Lecture Studio Lower DivisionContinued development of the basic acting tools of objectives, actions, justification, and personalization; continued vocal and physical work; introduction of script and character analysis; and the introduction of audition techniques. The course will use material from contemporary dramatic literature in the rehearsal process. Prerequisite: THTR 133. Instructor permission required for non-majors.
Learning Outcomes1Practice and incorporate relaxation, physical, vocal, and sense memory exercises into a daily warm-up.
2See, connect, and respond to a partner within improvised scenarios.
3Read plays with insight and imagine the experience of the characters in the given circumstance of a play.
4Analyze and break scenes down into beats, with each beat having a clear action and objective.
5Analyze, rehearse and publicly perform an open scene, and a contemporary monologue and scene.
