Spring 2025Upper DivisionThis course examines how the US economy functions and develops a theoretical framework permitting an analysis of the forces affecting national income, employment, unemployment, interest rates, and the rate of inflation. Throughout the semester we will discuss both the theory and the empirical evidence on aggregate macroeconomic measures; consumption, savings, and investment; labor supply and demand; employment and unemployment; economic growth; money and banking; and macroeconomic stabilization techniques.
