Spring 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionThe purpose of this course is to provide students with tools and strategies to reason through situations with ethical issues that they may encounter as engineering students and in their future careers. To this end, this course seeks to enhance students' awareness of ethical issues in interdisciplinary engineering contexts, ability to reason through ethical challenges in diverse engineering contexts, courage to respond to ethical issues in their future practice, ability to work effectively on teams, and the ability to communicate with others.
Learning Outcomes1Identify ethical issues affecting ethical engineering practice in interdisciplinary engineering contexts.
2Apply a consistent reasoning process toward ethical issues in an engineering context and formulate appropriate courses of action to respond to the issue.
3Feel prepared to respond to ethical issues they may encounter in their future work.
