Spring 2025 Lecture Upper DivisionThis course offers hands-on service learning experience with local community organizations involved with minority and immigrant populations. Part of the semester will include class meetings to explore issues and experiences of immigrant and ethnic groups in the U.S.
Learning Outcomes1Develop a theoretical and experiential understanding of migration and ethnicity in a variety of forms, especially in the U.S. historically and currently.
2Grasp the intersections of class, race and gender.
3Gain a basic understanding of anthropological field methods.
4Apply course concepts to real-life situations through engagement in hands-on community service with minority and immigrant populations.
