Spring 2026 Lecture Upper DivisionThis course offers hands-on service learning experience with local community organizations involved with minority and immigrant populations. Part of the semester will include class meetings to explore issues and experiences of immigrant and ethnic groups in the U.S.
Learning Outcomes1Explain the ethical, historical, and theoretical approaches and challenges of conducting community-engaged anthropological research.
2Design community-engaged research projects involving ethical approaches to partnerships, methods, and data analysis.
3Apply course concepts to real-life situations by conducting community-engaged research with a community partner.
4Summarize final research findings to a community partner.
