Topics will include theories of life, the origin of life, taxonomy and classification, theories of development, natural selection, genetics, eugenics, science and religion, the evolutionary synthesis, biodiversity, ecology and environmentalism, sociobiology, the discovery of DNA, cognition and the brain, and gender in science. Students will develop crucial skills in the interpretation of primary and secondary sources, research, analysis, and presentation.
