Spring 2025 LectureThis course will serve as seminar in natural language applications with the emphasis in information assurance, security, and privacy. The topics will review the state of the art of general information assurance, security, and privacy with the focus on natural language text and information received from and implied in it. The course will focus in a wide range of papers describing various techniques and applications, with the identifiable advantages and disadvantages. The assignments will range in class paper presentations to group projects and written reports.
Learning Outcomes1Illustrate the purpose and goals of natural language-based information assurance, security and privacy applications.
2Identify and evaluate individual applications for a particular need.
3Apply critical thinking and creative problem solving to improve existing solutions.
4Explain advantages and disadvantages of natural language processing techniques applied to security-related applications.
5Develop reports on new and existing methods and applications following Purdue University Ethics Policies.
