Summer 2020 Lecture Lower DivisionBehavioral/Social SciencesThis course engages critical questions regarding sport and its role in American culture. It examines the ways sport serves as a key site for the study of larger social issues and social problems, including how race, gender, social class and other social locations are simultaneously reproduced and challenged in and through sport. The course also explores the relationships between sport and other major social institutions, such as the economy, education, politics, and media.
