The course provides a holistic study of how children and adults learn science; how the learner's ideas, ways of thinking, abilities to do science, and their attitudes towards and beliefs about science learning influence how they learn science.

Learning Outcomes

1Develop an increased understanding of the research literature in science education as it pertains to science learners.

2Gain an appreciation of science learners and the different perspectives about how individuals learn science.

3Apply science education research about science learners to instructional, curricular, and assessment development.
