Fall 2026 Lecture Upper DivisionClassic and current issues in employee selection and the appraisal of employee performance will be discussed. Topics addressed will include: Equal Employment Opportunity and unfair discrimination, developing effective selection and placement strategies, evaluating employee performance, and understanding the performance appraisal process.
Learning Outcomes1Define and apply the major theories related to personnel selection and performance appraisal.
2Describe recent research findings and apply those findings to issues related to personnel selection and performance appraisal.
3Design and develop personnel selection and performance appraisal systems that are fair, valid, and legally appropriate.
4Demonstrate the ability to evaluate personnel selection and performance appraisal systems with respect to their fairness, validity, and legality.
5Perform a job analysis.
