Fall 2026 Instructors:
An introductory survey of women's legal status in America. Topics include but are not limited to: constitutional law, marriage and divorce, reproductive rights, employment discrimination, and crimes of violence.
Learning Outcomes1Critique the political, legal, and constitutional issues related to gender equality that have come before the courts.
2Describe complicated legal arguments and holdings and recognize the strongest and most convincing argument for and against key positions or legal interpretations.
3Explain key historical, doctrinal, and conceptual developments related to equal protection under the law guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and other legislation.
4Engage in respectful civic debate.
