This course applies information from Pharmacotherapeutics in primary care (NUR 50200) to the care of infants, children, adolescents and adults through the use of case studies. Emphasis is on incorporating from pharmacology, physiology and physical assessment.

Learning Outcomes

1Discuss appropriate drug management regimens and alternatives for common disorders in the primary care of infants, children, adolescents and adults.

2Identify criteria for initiating and monitoring drug therapies with consideration to age, concurrent illnesses, potential adverse effects, and current research.

3Describe client education approaches to drug therapies commonly used in the primary care of infants, children, adolescents and adults.
