National Security/Commissioning Preparation is designed for college seniors and gives them the foundation to understand their role as military officers and how they are directly tied to our National Security Strategy. It is an overview of the complex social and political issues facing the military profession and requires a measure of sophistication commensurate with the senior college level.

Learning Outcomes

1Describe the basic elements of national security policy and process.

2Identify the basic Air Force and Space Force warfighting domains.

3Describe the roles of the military in society.

4Discuss current domestic and international issues affecting the military profession.

5Describe fundamental provisions of the military justice system.

6Describe the responsibility, authority, and functions of an Air Force commander.

7Demonstrate listening, speaking, and writing skills in Air Force-specific formats.

8Plan for life as a second lieutenant.
