Spring 2025 Lecture Lower DivisionThis course develops one's ability to address situations faced by managers. This involves collecting information, analyzing that information to determine what decision or action is required and then selling the recommended decision or action to the management team. Selling this is done using one's persuasive skills in both telling a story and illustrating that story.
Learning Outcomes1Differentiate whether a situation calls for making a decision or solve a problem.
2Identify important facts in case studies.
3Organize facts found in case studies into issues that factor in the analysis of alternatives.
4Evaluate alternative solutions to a decision in terms of how they address issues.
5Recommend an alternative solution.
6Create a plan of action that will put the recommendation in place.
7Create presentations that have a story line flowing through them.
8Create a slide deck that supports the story line of the presentation.
9Demonstrate effective speaking and body language when making presentations.
