Principles, practices, and methods of employee training. Introduction to systematic training program design, development, and evaluation. Emphasis is on the supervisor as a trainer.

Learning Outcomes

1Define the role training and development plays in sustaining a competitive advantage across the full array of modern organizations.

2Explain how training is a systemic process and how it relates to the overall leadership, supervision, and human resource management system of an organization.

3Describe the purpose and scope of a training needs assessment and plan, including its key components in designing training systems in leadership, supervision, and human resource management system of an organization.

4Compare and contrast various training delivery methods, citing advantages and disadvantages of each.

5Describe the essential principles of adult learning and intervention evaluation in developing and designing a training program in leadership, supervision, and human resource management system of an organization.
