Spring 2026 Lecture Recitation HonorsLower DivisionAll JMHC students take this course each semester (fall and spring) of their first year. This course is designed to introduce students to college-level honors education. Learning outcomes include how to be flexible thinkers, inclusive collaborators, and ethical leaders. This course is the second half of the required course sequence taken by all students entering the Honors College. Restricted to Honors College students.
Learning Outcomes1Identify and analyze complex and global issues/events/perspectives.
2Identify approaches to interdisciplinary scholarship.
3Evaluate and summarize literature from multiple disciplines.
4Practice strategies for inclusive and equitable engagement across differences through in-class discussions and group activities.
5Recognize the mission of the JMHC - what the college stands for, what it offers to students, and what students can offer the JMHC community.
6Develop inclusive and equitable collaborative and teamwork skills.
