(CGT 25500) This course examines video game design, theory, and development from aesthetic, psychological, and technical perspectives. Students will gain experience with a commercial game development platform. Advanced game development techniques will be taught in this course.

Learning Outcomes

1Deconstruct and analyze an existing game and define its essential elements as per various theories of game design.

2Identify major psychological paradigms and how they are applied in video game experiences.

3Demonstrate proficiency in applying behavior modification principles in video games.

4Demonstrate individual technical proficiency with a commercial game engine.

5Complete a market-ready video game in a team-based production environment.

6Implement agile production techniques.
