Spring 2025 Instructors:

A study of literature or film from the perspective of the cultural norms and values it expresses, celebrates, and challenges. A project-based capstone seminar containing a significant research component. May be repeated for credit only with a different topic.

Learning Outcomes

1Demonstrate knowledge of the relationship between literary texts and their culture.

2Discuss those relationships in light of texts' diverse historical and aesthetic contexts.

3Produce a substantial work or project: a research essay; a digital humanities project; a scholarly edition; or a comparable service learning project.
