Spring 2026 Instructors:
Problems in three-dimensional design, incorporating materials, production processes, and applications of current technology, emphasizing aspects of society and technology. An introduction to complete industrial design problems, including problem definition, concepts, resource information, design development, final proposals, and presentation techniques.
Learning Outcomes1Apply knowledge of design for manufacturing and use of materials by creating and fabricating selected projects.
2Evaluate the aesthetics, ergonomics, and manufacturability of designs by participating in in-class design critiques.
3Utilize skills to analyze an existing product and redesign it with an expanded function.
