Students work individually and in small groups using authentic reading and audio materials.
Learning Outcomes1Understand both simple conversations on everyday topics and messages such as short news items, brief interviews, or advertisements, delivered at normal speed.
2Maintain simple conversations on everyday topics as presented in class and in the textbook.
3Read and understand ordinary original texts in Russian related to everyday activities.
4Write a report, an article, or a letter about important life events, as discussed in class.
5Expand their factual knowledge about everyday customs, key events, and prominent persons in Russian and Soviet culture with the goal to enhance their intercultural appreciation and communication skills.
6Recognize, appreciate and compare similarities and differences between their own culture and Russian culture.
