Fall 2025 Instructors:

An introduction to the modern techniques of econometrics and their applications. Topics include: the classical linear regression model (specification, estimation, inference, and prediction), specification analysis, functional form, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. Prerequisite: ECON 67000.

Learning Outcomes

1Investigate the properties of econometric estimators under a variety of conditions.

2Explain econometric techniques for estimating causal effects.

3Explain the principles and purpose of Monte Carlo simulation methods.

4Conduct basic empirical analyses of cross sectional data.
