Spring 2025 Lecture Laboratory Lower DivisionProvides an introduction to imaging of domestic animals. Emphasis will be placed on radiological principles and techniques, darkroom procedures and design, preparing technique charts for various X-ray units, animal positioning, and radiation safety.
Learning Outcomes1Recall and apply diagnostic imaging guidelines and safety procedures.
2Produce diagnostic images of soft tissue and orthopedic projections of both small and large animal patients.
3Produce diagnostic images of skull projections of small animal patients.
4Perform diagnostic contrast studies of the circulatory, renal and gastrointestinal systems.
5Utilize computed and digital imaging systems to produce diagnostic images of both large and small animal patients.
6Assist with performing diagnostic ultrasound scans of small animal patients.
7Possess a basic understanding and introductory working knowledge of CT, MRI and Nuclear Medicine scanning procedures on both small and large animal patients.
