This course will introduce students to nursing and diagnostic techniques for small animals and the body response to disease.
Learning Outcomes1Recognize and report conditions of hospitalized small animal patients.
2Provide appropriate nursing care to hospitalized patients.
3Place IV catheters in small animal patients and administer fluids appropriately.
4Perform diagnostic procedures and exams for small animal patients.
5Provide technical assistance to a DVM for diagnostics and therapeutics.
6Recognize emergent conditions and provide appropriate treatment.
7Perform basic training techniques with dogs.
