Fall 2025 Instructors:

Study of Latin American cultures and U.S. Latino culture, from pre-Columbian times to the present. The course will focus on selected aspects of the cultures of Latin American groups. Conducted in Spanish.

Learning Outcomes

1Identify and describe in Spanish contemporary aesthetic expressions in art, music, literature, film and architecture generated by Latin America's and U.S. Latino's diverse cultures through written exams and oral presentations.

2Demonstrate a deeper cross-cultural understanding of key similarities and differences between Latin American countries, including U.S. Latino cultures, through critical assessment of contemporary social, political, and cultural movements.

3Integrate multiple disciplines, perspectives, and methods of analysis of Latin American and U.S. Latino cultures through presentational language abilities in Spanish.
