Spring 2026 Instructors:
Study of U.S. agricultural trade with emphasis on international trade theory, exchange rates and their determination, relationships between domestic agricultural policies and trade policies, and analysis of institutional arrangements for world trade in agricultural products.
Learning Outcomes1Explain the rationale for international trade in a variety of economic models.
2Assess the models in terms of their assumptions and implications.
3Discuss supplementary research that qualifies and extends the basic models.
4Discuss the implications of international trade policies, institutions and agreements for international trade, especially trade in food and agricultural products.
