Spring 2026 Laboratory Preparation Laboratory Lower Division(ASEC 21200) This course will prepare future educators in using a greenhouse and landscape as teaching tools. The key focus will be preparing students to apply greenhouse and landscape management fundamentals in order to teach these concepts in the classroom. Laboratories will explore how to identify and produce both woody and herbaceous plants while safely maintaining and operating greenhouse technologies. Students will also explore how to implement landscape design technologies and identify tools, equipment, and landscape plants. Permission of instructor required.
Learning Outcomes1Identify and apply basic propagation techniques.
2Identify and describe plant species specific to greenhouse and landscape plantings.
3Interpret funding for greenhouses, greenhouse technologies, and landscape design equipment.
4Apply IPM, irrigation, and propagation techniques while safely maintaining and operating a greenhouse.
5Analyze and utilize landscape design software and tools to design a landscape.
