Spring 2025 Lecture Laboratory Lower DivisionDesign, make, and innovate! This course provides basic instruction on the proper and safe use of tools and equipment used to prototype innovative ideas. This includes 3D printers, laser cutters/engravers, fabrication tools/equipment, CNC mills/routers, and microcontrollers/microcomputers.
Learning Outcomes1Demonstrate the technical competencies to properly and safely operate common prototyping equipment and tools.
2Apply knowledge of materials properties to select the appropriate materials for a desired prototype.
3Create operations process flow charts for planning product development.
4Test prototypes in real situations to gather data related to their performance.
