Design, make, and innovate! This course provides basic instruction on the proper and safe use of tools and equipment used to prototype innovative ideas. This includes 3D printers, laser cutters/engravers, fabrication tools/equipment, CNC mills/routers, and microcontrollers/microcomputers.

Learning Outcomes

1Demonstrate the technical competencies to properly and safely operate common prototyping equipment and tools.

2Apply knowledge of materials properties to select the appropriate materials for a desired prototype.

3Create operations process flow charts for planning product development.

4Test prototypes in real situations to gather data related to their performance.
