A study of the design-build project delivery system for residential construction, including home design fundamentals, construction methods, disability code requirements, building code requirements, and aging-in-place design coupled with best practices of universal design.

Learning Outcomes

1Describe concepts relating to universal design-build and aging in place when designing residential construction.

2Describe specific design solutions for various client requirements including but not limited to ADA, Aging in Place, etc.

3Identify special considerations for estimating and scheduling a design-build project.

4Identify considerations and recommendations for executing the job while the client is in residence.

5Discuss common design-build business challenges and practical tips and tools to overcome them.
