Spring 2025 Distance Learning Lecture Laboratory Lower Division
This is an introduction to the materials and processes used when generating 3D modeled solutions to construction problems using traditional and emerging construction documentation standards. Construction documents are created based on current Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) standards with a focus on residential settings - introduction sketching into 2D documentation that will progress into 3D modeling.
Learning Outcomes1Have a working knowledge of the core construction material and method concepts through sketching into modeling processes.
2Analyze, synthesize, utilize, and determine design processes & strategies to creatively solve AEC communication problems.
3Create and communicate graphic solutions in the ideation, development, and production of visual messages to determine design and modeling decisions that address audiences needs.
4Utilize relevant applications, tools and technology in the creation, reproduction, and distribution of visual messages.
5Develop functional literacy in a variety of materials and methods of construction.
