Linguistic analysis of German, focusing on phonetics, phonology, and word structure. The course will treat various problems of pronunciation, structural sound patterns, and word derivation. One weekly class is devoted to theoretical issues affecting German phonology and morphology. Credit will not be given for both GER 36100 and 56100.
