Summer 2025 LectureCredit Hours: 3.00. This course focuses on discovery and utilization of evidence-based care to produce the best outcomes for patients. The student develops a problem statement, performs a comprehensive literature search, and critically evaluates the evidence to determine best practice and formulate recommendations. The implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP) practical strategies, and analysis of components of EBP are examined throughout the course. Prerequisite: NUR 51000 and either an undergraduate or graduate statistics course within the last five years. NUR 62600 is recommended.
Learning Outcomes1Produce a comprehensive research literature review on an identified healthcare question.
2Critically analyze the literature to determine appropriate conclusions based on the research evidence.
3Prepare a manuscript of publishable quality to present the conclusions based on the critical analysis of the evidence and appropriate recommendations for practice.
